Trigger - CPP’s

A Customer Passed Parameter (CPP) is a data point created by, or currently available in the client’s app that is captured by ForeSee code and sent with a survey submission. CPPs provide additional data for analysis without increasing the number of questions asked on the survey.

Many clients opt to provide their app version as a CPP, which helps greatly when it comes to analyzing changes in customer satisfaction between app upgrades.

Using CPPs

Clients can define CPPs in two ways:

  1. In foresee_configuration.json:There is a cppParameters key in the JSON file that is a collection of key-value pairs.
  2. In code via the SDK: You can use the ForeSee.addCpp("key", "value") method to dynamically add CPPs. This is useful if you want to add CPPs based on specific conditions.

Default CPPs

By default, the SDK automatically captures and sends the following device related CPPs with the survey:

  • model_nameThe model name of the device, e.g., GT-S7560M
  • brand_nameThe brand name of the device, e.g., Samsung
  • browserThe browser, e.g., Android WebKit
  • osThe device operating system, e.g., Android 4.4
  • os_versionThe operating system version, e.g., 4.4
  • is_tablet‘True’ if the device is a tablet
  • resolution_widthScreen width in pixels
  • resolution_heightScreen height in pixels
  • screen_widthScreen width in mm
  • screen_heightScreen height in mm
